How to Write Perfect LinkedIn Connection Request

I want you to be added in my professional network.

LinkedIn connection requests can’t get more boring than this.

People ignore common requests. If you spend some time in customizing your request, you’ll see much better results of acceptance. Your first contact should be targeted, individualistic and appropriate.

Ways to create the perfect cold outreach LinkedIn connection request

How did you find their profile?

Have they written a blog, conducted a workshop, or do you both have a mutual connection? Tell them.

Create a common ground.

Share something you both have common, maybe a quotation from the blog they posted, or a professional interest. Adding all this will make your request genuine.

Why do you want to connect?

Writing just ‘to connect’ doesn’t work. Be exact- do you need professional guidance, want to know more about their work, or learn more about a service they provide.

Be straightforward.

Only a few seconds are available to you to seize their attention. Write your LinkedIn message request should be written like an instant message than an email. Write some precise sentences by including the above mentioned points and a closing phrase (e.g. keep in touch) and your name.

Spending a bit of your time in crafting your LinkedIn connection request will give the results you want. Below are some of the templates to be used.
